Judy Eisenberg

Judy Eisenberg, a Gardening Consultant living in Somerville, MA, has been gardening and consulting professionally with a personal touch for more than ten years.

Her love of working with the soil and growing flowers began as a child when she tended her own rock garden on the family property. At that time, she also went with her father to local garden centers to help him pick out perennials, annuals and shrubs for the rest of the garden beds. Judy learned about house plant care from her mother. Once a week, she watered the many plants around the house and helped repot them as needed. As an adult, she gave friends and family horticultural advice and helped them with their own gardens. SunandShadeGardening came about as a result of Judy's love of gardening and her desire to help others beautify their gardens.

Judy is a member of the Ecological Landscape Association and the Somerville Garden Club. As one of`the Club's Program Coordinators, she recruits professional horticulturists to give presentations at the Club's monthly meetings. In addition to her professional gardening services, she works each spring as Gardening Consultant at Pemberton Farms & Garden Center in Cambridge, MA.

Judy was former Site Manager of the Somerville Community Growing Center, a center for both environmental education and cultural performances, and a model for mixed urban land use and collaboration between city government and local non-profit agencies.

Feet of Clay Pottery cooperative of Brookline, MA played an important role in Judy's life. She was a long time member and marketed her whimsical hand built pottery nationwide.

She is also an experienced event planner, fundraiser and community outreach coordinator.
